Detroit is well known as the MotorCity. It's history is centered around one main industry; automobiles. For over 100 years, this city has depended on the industry that has moved it!  

Detroit weddings are one of my favorites to photograph. A couple years ago, I had the honor of second shooting my cousin's wedding. My cousin worked in the city for as long as I could remember and loved it. My love for the city came later in my life, whereas she loved it for most of hers. It was no surprise that her wedding day revolved around the awesome sights in the city. This was the first wedding where I realized that I loved Detroit to the fullest. This was the day that I knew I wanted to shoot weddings in Detroit for the rest of my life :)

We started the day at the Book Cadillac Hotel, which is so majestic in its own right. Rain decided to grace the couple but that didn't stop them from getting the pictures that they wanted. From there we made a few stops including Comerica Park, the Guardian Building, Corktown, Detroit Beer, Co. ( the bar that she was a manager at at the time), and ended at their venue, the Ford Piquette Plant.

The Ford Piquette Plant is a history nerd's dream (this girl!! I'm a history nerd), not to mention a vintage car enthusiast's dream. The ceremony took place on the level with all the vintage model T's. You guys, this place is awesome!! The guests got to sit (and stand) among Detroit's history. The bride walked down the aisle of vintage cars under string lights to the love of her life. They were surrounded by their friends and family, and so much of Detroit's history. The reception included a separate room for the bar and treats, and dinner and dancing took was in the main room. Vintage wedding details adorned the whole reception. This fall wedding was beautiful and I'm so glad I got to take part in it!
