You’ll think me crazy but before two years ago, I had not been to Belle Isle in Detroit for probably two decades. It’s crazy.... trust me I know. My boyfriend and I have birthdays two days apart, but I am a year wiser! Two years ago, we celebrated our birthdays in Detroit, which was to start our tradition. We decided to drive around Belle Isle and I instantly became obsessed. I fell in love with the Belle Isle Casino and vowed to either have my own wedding there or shoot a wedding there!!

Not too long after that, Katy posted on Facebook about needing a photographer for their wedding at the BELLE ISLE CASINO!!! I couldn’t believe how perfect the timing was. Not to mention, their first look would be at the Guardian Building, another fave of mine. I responded to her post, trying not to sound desperate!!! It worked and she booked with me! I was far too excited!!  

Theoughout the planning of her wedding, she shared details with me. That got me even more excited. Their engagement pictures were at sunrise at Belle Isle and then in perfect lighting at the Detroit Institute of Arts. All this led up to their perfect and intimate day. This wedding started and ended in Detroit. A true Detroit wedding that was perfect! 

A surprise visit from their pup arranged by the grrom!! Her reaction is priceless!
